Monthly, rolling and PAYG are not synonyms

Look at renewal behaviour as well as the label on the product.

Three different questions

How do you pay? How long are you committed? What allowance do you receive? These questions can have different answers. A prepaid bundle can renew automatically, and a rolling product can still have a defined notice or renewal process. Read the product rather than assuming its name answers all three.

Credit and bundles

Credit is a balance used for eligible chargeable activity. A bundle supplies an allowance for a set period. Ask what happens outside that allowance, including whether service stops or starts consuming credit. International and premium services may fall under separate conditions.

A low-use or spare phone

Check inactivity rules if the number is mainly a backup. Find out what activity keeps the account open and how unused credit is handled. Test the connection occasionally rather than discovering a problem during an urgent situation.

Ending renewal

Use the official account to change renewal, keeping the effective date. If you want to retain the number, arrange its transfer before abandoning the SIM. Turning off a future payment is not necessarily the same as completing a number transfer or ending a separate phone agreement.
